Our client sits within the commodities sector, facilitating export operations. Seeking an Export Finance Manager to join their Brisbane-based team. Must have experience in letter-of-credit (LC) financing.

You will ensure that global sales are backed by robust credit management, accurate revenue collection, and high-level financial reporting. This is an ideal role for a finance professional experienced within commodity sales/exports
who enjoys fast-paced commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Assurance: Take full ownership of the end-to-end revenue collection process for international shipments, ensuring all payments are received securely and on schedule.
  • Trade Credit & Risk: Manage complex trade credit arrangements, including Letters of Credit and credit insurance, ensuring all financial safeguards are in place prior to cargo loading.
  • Contractual Oversight: Monitor contract performance and documentation, ensuring all commercial activities comply with internal governance and international audit standards.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Lead the month-end process for the sales division, providing detailed forecasts, management accounts, and margin analysis to the executive team.
  • Commercial Support: Provide financial guidance on sales plans, quantifying valuations and identifying opportunities for risk management or margin enhancement.
  • People Leadership: Manage and mentor a direct report, overseeing daily financial administration while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess:

  • Qualifications: A Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CA/CPA or similar postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded).
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in a senior finance or commercial role, preferably within an export-heavy industry such as resources, energy, or bulk commodities.
  • Technical Depth: Significant experience with trade finance instruments (LCs), credit management, and revenue reconciliation.
  • Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in large-scale ERP environments and advanced Excel skills.
  • Leadership Qualities: A natural ability to lead by example, providing meaningful feedback and maintaining high standards of work.
